Maybe watch it for a 2nd time and decide if its still one of the best films ever.  :chicken:

I thought it was a let down. Slow and boring. Acting wasnt even great. Denzel is good in some films, but i didnt think this was one of them.

Old Denz is superb in 'Safe House' also.

Be on DVD soon - well worth a watch. Went to the cinema for it and wasn't disappointed. Decent storyline for a smash em' up & shoot em' up too.

Which was Denzel's film in which he played a New York gangster who rose to power but was absolutely ruthless? Another good actor played the detective who finally toppled him but there was much respect between them.

So my take on the fillum. Denzel plays a man with "issues". He is essentially a good man asked to do bad things in a former life and these things have scarred him. He is damaged goods.
This fillum is him coming good and atoning for some of his previous actions. It runs quite slow to start with as they build his character but when it kicks off hold on to your hats.  :drinking:

There. In a nutshell.  :smiley:
