Just come out from having lunch with the SWMBO and some [censored] has broke into the car :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:
They've done the passenger window, raided everything and nicked my ipod. they also tried doing the drivers window and chipped the glass and also missed so I've got a dent in the A piller and all the paint has flacked off down to the bare metal :fighting: :fighting:
Inside wise the front leather seats are scuffed and torn, ashtray cover don't work, plastic surround on the steering column is broken and behind the steering wheel is scuff. :fighting: :fighting:
Never had anything happen like this and can't describe how I feel as up and down like a yo yo atm. The car just didn't feel the same on the way back, if it had just been the window then I wouldn't have cared but the a pillar is whats done it for me.
The police cam within 15mins and took prints but as the pub/restaurant car park only had 3 cameras and only 1 worked that didn't cover my car doubt anything will come of it but the police and the restaurant staff were very helpful.
They also tried to do a golf TDi behind me but only managed to put alot of scratches on the drivers window but no other cars had been touched.
ATM just want it fixed and thinking of returning to standard and getting shot of it, just really lost the connection with the car but its the best car. Just wished I parked where I was going to and never went for the bigger space to stop people opening their car doors onto mine :sad1: :sad1:

Scum of the earth...I dont leave anything in my car now, shove it all in the boot out of sight.
Some scrote went through my car and took 2 jackets and all my cash cards. :fighting:
-
sorry to hear that. I know what you mean about the car not feeling the same, but get the repairs done and with a bit of time im sure it will restore your enjoyment in the car and put a smile back on your face :happy2:
and hopefully they will catch the [censored] too.
-
Cnuts :fighting:
Hope you get it sorted soon mate. :sad1:
-
Cheers guys, wouldnt't have minded if it was the window and the ipod (only found it when the opened the arm rest), its the A pillar damage that has annoyed me the most.
Highways (via greenlight) were very helpful, even tho the system locked and they had to call me back. Car s being picked up on Monday and I'm getting a courtesy car until its repaired. I'll get some pics up later but got to go get some new locks now as just noticed the house keys have gone and had an invoice with my address on.. and a car cover as theres no window, luckily its off road and secured.
costly week now after 2 new PS3's and insurance excess lol
-
Slitting there thoats slowly and watching them die slowly isn't even justice for these scum of the earth! Hope you're happy once you get it back pal, I'm sure it will all be spot on.
-
sorry to hear that, What area was this mate. did your alarm not go off?
-
Basildon/Laindon area in Essex. The alarm went off but no one see or heard it just had indicators flashing when I went back. Alarm was working as it went off during hail stones the weekend.
The copper who was taking the prints said alot of this has happened around that area, especially at a leisure centre near by but only certain area's of the car parks not covered by CCTV.
-
sorry to hear about this dude :fighting:
i hope all gets sorted soon dude and u dont sell her as shes a beauty

Here's a couple of pics, the inside is your usual ransacked car with glass in places you couldn't imagine and leather ruined so haven't bothered posting them, its just this bit I'm most p1$$ed about

Don't let the barstewardss grind you down or win. The car looks repairable.

:surprised: :surprised: :surprised: :surprised: :surprised:
That is appalling, its not my car and im getting the horrible feeling in my stomach!
-
Frikkin' w&$%"!s
This is the kind of thing that really boils my piss. I can understand how you feel but it's up to you about what you want to do.
-
A few months ago my back window got done (no where near as bad as yours) I felt the feeling of wanting to get rid but in 2 weeks time she will feel like new again :happy2:
I was even lucky enough to find out who done mine too, the visit to his house with the stereo out of his own car was pretty good feeling!
In a few days your be missing it again and when she's back your be in love again
-
Cheers guys, the comments about getting shot I must admit were a bit of a knee jerk reaction, gonna get her repaired and see how I feel when see comes back. She gets picked up on Monday and got to go from there really. Its just thrown me a bit especially knowing someones been in there, can't even imagine how i'd be if it was my house.
I've done the usual looking on autotrader earlier, when I was in the get rid mentality and I can't really find anything that floats my boat or would compare. If I got another MK5 I'd always be comparing and everything else is a bit out my price range, except for a59 plate Blue VRS Octavia but Greenlight don't insure them lol.

I hate seeing threads like this one. There really are some dreadful scumbags about who don't give two hoots about anyone else. :fighting:
Don't get rid and let them deny you the enjoyment of owning such a nice car.
-
I had one of my previous cars stolen, stripped and written off and at the time, I thought it was the end of the world. Looking back now, it seems like a distant memory. Even though you'll be thinking 'why do I bother', you will get over it sooner than you think. There will always be 'lowlifes' out there who don't respect what others have worked to attain.
Just remember, we're better than them and as Robin said, don't let them grind you down. Hope you get it all sorted quickly, and remember at the end of the day, it is only a lump of metal!
-
I feel your pain mate, id be gutted if anything like this happened to me, oncve the car is fulley repaired your feeling will hopefully change
The damage to the A pillar looks very bad tbh, but i would have thought the bodyshop will slide hammer most of the damage out and then skim it, and respray it, once done you will never know it was there
Chin up mate, hope the OB catch the failed abortions that have done this to your car, there total CNUTS
-
I haven't got the swear words to properly call these twacunfucbaskers :sad1:
What u gonna do about the house locks?
Did u say they got the house keys and address?
Like others have said, in a short time you'll have the car back, and get really giddy after being without it for a few weeks, and you won't even think about the mothersh*tcockarsef*cknobs!
-
Got the locks sorted, it was only a key for one of the doors on the house (not saying what one) and anything with an address on wasn't taken but could've still been copied so changed as a precaution, the other keys only done a couple of padlocks that were in the car that went missing aswell for some strange reason.
Just got to take some more pictures of the damage to the leather as the pie phone didnt pick them up properly and get some of the glass out aswell
-
Gutted to hear about your troubles.
Hope you get it sorted
-
Cheers Ed, Found out today its being fixed, 3days work they reckon so hopefully end of next week i should have her back

Indeed, already planning mods to do to her when I get her back :signLOL:
I need to find a way to block any website with mods for the mk5 :signLOL:

My blood is boiling and it isn't even my car!!! Bring back hanging!!!!!!! f*ckING ****S!!
-
Sad to hear this mate, this is the reason I hate parking the car anywhere but at home. My mate recently returned to his car to find that some 'kind individual' had ripped back the vinyl on his roof almost the whole way which had in turn lifted some of the paint at the same time. Didn't steal anything, just did the roof and smashed an electric folding wing mirror off! This country is turning into a Jeremy Kyle holding pen!

Dreadful news - I cant imagine how you felt when you came out and saw that! Its a lovely car btw , I hope it comes back better than new - I remember being really impressed with it at Inters last year. Gotta keep these limited edition Laser Blue GTIs on the road , so dont get rid!!! :happy2:

x2
its a depressing thought that all it takes is someone else or some people to do something like that to your car and not even think twice about their actions.
-
Glad your getting this sorted. I'm sorry for the distress you must have gone through.
