Hi Guys/Gals
Got hold of some Golf R clips today and wanted to know whether they will fit my Cupra brakes and what is involved in fitment?
Do I have to remove the silver part of the caliper or does the clip fit on top?
Thanks

Yeah the silver clip needs removing!
It's basically the same thing as the R clip, but the R clip has a big front plate. The silver one has the little square front plate.
Take care removing and installing them. A screwdriver can be used carefully but watch the paint, and yourself if it springs out :happy2:

I chipped the hell out of mine, was glad I had not paid to have them powdercoated or would have been livid!
Pull each side out, and then push the square part forward as there is a small tab underneath, then to put the R one on, put the tab in, then prize the clips into place, they have quite a bit of give, but be careful of fingers, as they slap pretty hard and painful if they come back at you. :happy2:

Thanks for the replies guys, I take it that this can still be done with the calipers fitted to the car? :happy2:

Think their eBay site may be a bit cheaper but still expensive

I think i have a pair of these in the garage :smiley:

Kufatec are the cheapest place I have found them online;
http://www.kufatec.de/shop/de/oem-parts-sonderposten/original-vw-bremsfeder-bremssattel-r-line-r20-r32-r36
Price is each. Still not cheap, so I am intending to spray the S3 caliper retaining clips I have, and fit a vinyl sticker. I did purchase an original set of R-line retainers, but am thinking the painted / badged S3 combination might be just as good.

I like the sound of that idea, not being tight but £50-75 for 2 x clips is nuts in my eyes :scared:
Is this something your doing or just thinking? I'm going to do this so if your not too sure I'll put some pictures up of my finished product
That's of course if Yin doesn't come up with a good price :signLOL:
