Best to replace in pairs, cos if one is worn, the other is bound to follow shortly after...

BSH do uprated rear drop links, but known to cause knocking apparently, the standard ones are fine.

Hi mate,

How did know they had failed? Are they making a noise?

Cheers,

Graeme

Took it to VW for free check, they said there is play in the passenger side arb link. They wanted £150 to replace.

Cheers, mines making a clicking noise from LHS of the car and does it even when the right front wheel goes over a bump so thinking it must be ARB bushes / drop links.

£150?! for ONE?!

i paid £34 for a pair of Febi ARB links from andrew page, changed them myself, you just need a m5 spline bit to hold the centre of the bolt and a spanner to undo the nut - some wd40 to help it along too. job done! or just pay a small garage to do it for you, its a simple enough job, they're not even sided on the MK5 - same drop links as used on the passat, golf, octavia, i think a3 and a whole load of other vag cars too...
