Hey guys,
Had my edition 30 about a month now and absolutely looving it :) however....
When stationary and lift up the brake the car starts moving forward as expected, but if I give it a little extra on the peddle up to maybe 10mph the car becomes quite jerky and lurches forward until i either take my foot off the peddle or accelerate harder...
Friend of mine said he had this issue in his A3 a while ago but when slowing down and it was his DSG mechtronic unit? (never heard of it but sounds expensive!) I'm under warranty at the minute so would be good to get it sorted asap, any ideas greatly appreciated!
Best,
Sean

its not a cheap fix its the dsg big problem

Sounds like a mechatronics unit mate. A friend of mine had two replaced under warranty and also my dad in his Leon. Fingers crossed you get it. Because it ain't cheap

Get down to VW right now! Its an expensive fix.

It does sound like a Mechatronics unit failing , sorry for the bad news think our one was £1k to fix but under warranty
-
Mechatronics unit for sure, hopefully you've bought from a dealer and have some warranty cover, or your looking at a £1500 + bill :sad1:
-
As said above, it will most likely be the mechatronics unit needing replaced
Depending on make make/age on the unit there us a software upgrade available that's seems to have cured a few issues on the DSGs
But if your under warranty you will want the mechatronics replaced ( DSG oil is changed at the same time )

Sorry guys, been away all weekend thanks for all the replies! Yeah luckily im covered by warranty for another 10 months so should be plenty to time to get it all sorted. I was due a DSG oil change too so guess it'll be done at the same time as alittle bonus :)
I'll call them today and hopefully get sorted!

Try an accelerator pedal reset as well, but ultimately it will probably be the mechatronics.
-
If mechatronics are being replaced they should issue a new 3 year warranty on the box, they did when mine were replaced under warranty in October :happy2:

They sounded pretty sure from my description of what was happening that it is the mechatronics, booked in for next week Monday to take a look. :happy2:
Got Cumbria VAG meet this Sunday too just have to take it easy :sad1:

somtimes I wish i went DSG, but when I hear these stories im glad I went manual! :drinking:

Its not common place. Dsg is as reliable as a Manual, except clutches need changing every now and again, same could be said about a Mechs unit, and thats more often or changed F.O.C

DSG comes in handy it seems when stage 1 or 2 as they can handle the power whereas manuals seems to eat clutches, its swings and roundabouts :happy2:
-
makes little difference to me as its on warranty but yeah, guess things go wrong with manual too! Coming from manuals and not so sure about the DSG I must admit I love having it! looking forward to having it sorted.
-
Its in today! Fingers crossed comes back perfect!
-
I hope so as well Good Luck.

Picked it up yesterday and feels amazing! they replaced mechatronic unit and oil at the same time. Also replaced the top air vent on my dash as it was rattling and slightly warped in the sun (£24) and got new bolt covers all round for £4. next stop...porsche 996TT brake kit :)
-
Glad you got it all fixed
-
That was a good result! :happy2:
Mine goes in for it's first DSG service on Monday - thankfully I've not experienced any issues with it so far. (touch wood etc!)
