It very much depends on what your priorities are.

If wanting to go big power get the S3 for the traction. The looks are down to personal taste but I do prefer the look of the Golf. If you need some level of practicality a 5 dr Eddie would be the most practical as has a bigger boot than the S3 due to no rear diff.
