2 x 6Y0 827 550 C (Skoda Fabia gas springs)
2 x 1K8 827 761 C (Scirocco bumpers)
2 x 1J6 827 439 A (Seat Leon ball pins)
Can all of these parts be bought from a main VW dealer? Never bought anything from VW do didn't know if you could buy other VAG parts from them?
Thank you in advance!! :happy2:

as far as I know... Birmingham VW have got a nice little sign up saying they dont sell parts for other VAG group cars...then give you a list of numbers for the relevant skoda/audi/seat/ford (for the galaxy) dealerships...
however... your local VW Trade Parts Specialist WILL sell you ANY VAG group parts...and if you ask if they'll do you any discount will probably add you the trade discount even if your just retail...
I'm going to be adding this to mine soon, so cheers for the part list!

I managed to get the ball pins and bumpers from VW but had to get the gas struts from Skoda.

:popcornsoda:
This is sounding interesting.
I'm asuming some form of coding will be required?
Has anyone had any issues especially with the gas element of this mod?

For the coding you'll need
46 - Central Convenience
Byte 2, Bit 3 needs to be checked :happy2:
-
Why need coding-sure you just use the boot release on the fob? Sure I'm missing something so sozza in advance!
Another thing I want to ask\ bring up - is the fact that on my stock mk5 tailgate I find I have to slam the hell out of it to close as the struts have slowed it down that much my by the time it reaches the latch,,, so with stronger skoda struts - gonna be hell of a job shutting the damn thing!
-
Its very noteably stiffer (was on the Leon) with the Fabia struts
You have to code to allow the latch to fully 'release as it has two stages of opening

Do your hatch pops always pop/fully open?
Mine doesn't when it's colder.
Maybe the 'd' revision rocco bumpers 'pop' better?

You can adjust the original rocco bumpers to give more push

I know. I tried them with one and with two 'clicks'.
Yours always work?

Mine didnt work too well in the cold. Im having OEM length Leon struts gassed to a higher force as the Fabia ones didnt really open my boot high enough

'gassed to a higher force'?! How?
If it gets below +/- 60 Fahrenheit, the boot won't open/the 'pop' isn't strong enough.

Custom variable force struts :happy2:
