Hi,
What do people return mpg wise from tootling around town in 170's?
am looking to buy another car torn between the 140 and 170 would love the extra power.
I know the 140's are ridiculously good but what about a mapped de dpf 170 what do they do round town? Cheers

I was seeing high 50's on my daily commute to work which is about 13 miles of mixed speed limit A roads. Mostly national speed limit. Since the remap and de DPF it has come down abit but saw 52mpg yesterday morning but generally is mid 40's. It does really depend on how you drive it. Since having the remap and DPF removed its very eager to get going. So if you like using your right foot it does knock it down.
With that said, even though the computer is showing a reduction in mpg's I'm still getting the same, if not a few more miles to £40.

cheers mattto i thought rremap inceases mpg not decreases
-
My 140 is doing 60mpg ish at motorway speeds with 18x8 wheels. When on 15inch steelies was getting much higher. Around town i doubt there is much difference over petrol and diesel!
-
Mines remapped aswell
-
so theres not much difference between 140 and 170s book figures are only 3-4 mpg apart plus am thinking of a remap so that should bmp it up

We get a lot of both in the workshop, typically they see very similar figures MPG wise.
140pd gains 12% in most cases after mapping, 170 gains around 8%.
With the DPF off map that we do the 170 gains about 20% in fuel economy over stock.

and how much is the remap and dpf gutting service

Before my remap I was getting a constant 50ish mPg, after my remap and dpf delete its around 50mpg and it's pretty constant
-
I had a 170 gt sport last year, remapped to 198bhp(no dpf removal),get around 45mpg or 450ish miles to a tank
Before the remap I can get around 50ish mpg & 480-490 miles a tank
Hope this helps mate

hi,
was this 'city'/local driving or motorway?...
with my 1.9PD i'm getting ~40mpg local driving and ~55ish if im lucky on the motorway
either somethings wrong or the 1.9 just isnt as economical as the 2.0's...
-
so u get more mpg before the remap, every tuner i speak to says ex[ect 10% increase after map and de dpf.
-
i think the 140 wud be a better all round car

It really depends what your after really. Like I said in my earlier reply, yes the figures have dropped a little but I'm getting roughly the same mileage wise per tank. For me 5mpg is neither here nor there.
-
Im getting 600 miles to a tank, maybe a tad more. 95% motorway, the rest mainly 30s

We have remapped literally hundreds of both the 140 and 170 engine, never ever had a customer report a reduction in MPG! Typically an increase of 10-12% is achieved, even higher 15-20% with DPF removal.

It all depends on how you drive

Exactly. 54.5 average this morning.

Mine smokes a fair bit but was told before hand to expect it with the map I have. It differs depending on who tunes it.

Smoke isn't that bad, nothing to worry about, again depends who does it
