hope someone can help, might be a stupid question but im a girl so i have an excuse :) the heated seats in my car wont work will i need new fuses or elements ?and where would i get these would i have to go to vw.
thanks:)x
-
I would first check the fuse in the fuse box, if thats ok then get someone with a multimeter to check that power is actually getting to the elements before condeming them.
-
Ok thank you ill get it looked at :)
-
If you do go to VW just flatter your eyelashes a bit and im sure the price will be reasonable ;)
Sorry that was totally off topic but just had to be said
-
that was the plan anyway hahah :P
-
Or you could look in the Passenger compartment fuse box at position 37 (should be a 30A fuse) to see if blown.
-
i have no idea where that is lol ill need to get someone to have a look for me .thanks tho at least i can pretend i know what im talkin about :) lol
-
Hi, have they never worked or have they all of a sudden just packed in.
-
Hi , im not sure i just bought the car a month ago they will have at one point but iv tried them and no heat at all so both of them are broken :(
-
Hi there, i dont mean this sarcastic so please dont take this the wrong way, have you tried turning them on whilst sitting in the seat or have you switched them on and touched them with your hand and noticed them not working. The reason i am asking is because if you dont sit in the seats they dont heat up. You have to be sat in them for the sensors to work. If you have then as said, could well be a fuse. :happy2:
-
You could also check the connection under the seat hasn't come out. Clips into the floor connector and if you shove things under the seat they can get disconnected.
-
haha no its fine , yeh i realised that iv tried them a few times they just dont heat up at all :P
-
well i did notice the black plastic cover has came off my seat so i put it back on maybe somthing has came out . when i bought the car he did say they all worked fine. hope its just me being stupid and i dont have to go get them fixed lol
-
For them both to not work then it's more likely to be a fuse problem as its very unlucky and unfortunate for both seats to pack in at the same time. So as said a garage will check this for you. A independant garage is more likely to check the fuses and not charge you whereas VW who prob will charge. We don't charge for little things like this at our garage as it takes seconds to check. Again checking the feed to the seat is also a failry quick job so don't let anyone tell you it takes ages and charge you a fortune :happy2:

Aww thank you x
-
It's only going to feel like you've wet yourself when you do get them working!! :ashamed:
-
haha i no ay , its just annoying me that somethings not working lol
-
I know exactly what you mean.
-
its annoying ay , im not even really fussed about them it gets hot enough in the car as it is with the seats being leather
