Thought I'd start a build thread as my bro (Grande Gti) keep's going on about it. I bought my self a MK5 GT In November. I said i'm not modding this as I was not planning to keep it for long, but plans changed as my bro talked me into it… LOL

Now the thing is I managed to delete all the early pictures I had on my phone while I was doing the changes. :surprised:

Added R32 Front xenon's and Back Lights (took the ones my brother bought when he wasn’t looking) getting better every day!!!! :laugh:

Thanks mate, I have a few other bit i want to do just collecting the parts.
The wheels are really easy to clean as i do get lazy at the best of times LOL

Went to see cousins in Leeds (black MK4), few of my mates up there were pestering me to do a photo shoot, passed the camera to my mate he took the pic when i was moving car around... :surprised: LOL

Since I have lowered the motor its been giving me issues knocking front left. First I thought it was the drive shaft catching cheeked couldn’t see any marks… started looking around for other place, noticed that the arb has marks on it seems like the arb is hitting the wishbone.

I started reading the forums to get answers. Found few threads saying to get Subframe Spacer Plates Kit.

So I ordered them in from VW and fitted…

Motor looked like a 4x4 so I though I go lower…

I been away for a week on holiday thought I get the car ready for MIVW and give the car in to the garage to get fly wheel changed as it was really noisy…

This has burned a massive hole in my pocket for now as its cost just shy over £1000 :sad1:, but should get the money back from the warranty guys :P…

My dad though he borrow the car as always when parking up kerbed the rim!!!! :congrats: This is not the first time he did this to my mk2 golf before edition 38 few years back...

When I asked him he said “that the kerb moved towards the car and he couldn’t avoid it” with a big smile on his face I just had to laugh.

For now I cant do anything about this now so will fix this after MIVW :confused: (not like it’s a show car lol)

Thanks mate... i think the xenon lights are one of the best upgrade i've done so far... always out at night... :smiley:

i wasnt too sure about the interior LED lights at first but got use to them.

Nice US parts ready to go on... just waiting for a slot at the bodyshop :driver:

By then my number plate transfer will be back from DVLA (thanks to Grande_GTi) not sure if i wanna put it on now :confused:

Thanks Matt... 5 Door is great when taking hte family out,... Xenons were a stright swap just need them coaded in via vagcom... LED's i got were from ebay.. im sure some one are selling full set of led's for mk5 golf on here!!!

Being on the on the 18" Phaeton's was awesome, got some great feed back from people, but I couldnt get the car to sit how I wanted it to, So we set about sourcing some wheels I didnt want to go down the usual regular routes, plus from visiting MIVW last year it really opened my eyes to the capability of mk5's and wheels.

So after searching the forums and other classified section, I managed to Source a set of fairly rare Mercedes 19's 8 1/2 and 9 1/2, which all being well should sit just how I want.

The wheels are now at refurbers still bit undecided to what colour to have them painted :confused:

On a slightly different note, Booking the car in for paint mid feb so things around the car will be changing too. :wink:

Those Merc alloys are a very design indeed and should suit your Golf, except......... [you did say you welcome comments!]............

....Except for the Mercedes badge. Having a Mercedes, Audi, Bentley :sick:, or different brand of car wheel looks ostentatious in my opinion. It's not much different from putting a Rolls-Royce radiator on the front of a car which isn't a Rolls - Just not quite so in-yer-face, but.

Fortunately not everyone agrees with me so you can do as you wish :happy2: No insults etc meant - I'm just being totally honest in my opinion.

They are a really attractiove design. :happy2:

thanks again... i have swapped the 501 bulbe for an LED one... that about it :smiley:

UPDATE… :jumping:

So I booked the Alloys in for refurb, sourced all the tyres so all being well they should be back in a mid next week

After going to Holland/MIVW last year Ive had a vision of what I want my motor to look like, Im going down the USA look, so I bought some bits , a front US bumper with markers, US Number plate holder, US rear bumper, and hopefully a certain person will return my US lower gti valance hint hint......

I also dropped the car to the bodyshop last night to have some work carried out, Front & Rear USA bumpers sprayed n fitted, Edition 30 Side skirts, having Mirrors painted black, A Pillars painted black, Something different on the Front no plate grill, Arches rolled n pulled slightly, Repaint calipers and my favourite, a Vortex Front splitter.

So all in all should look quite different when its all put together.

Thanks the pictures didnt really come out the way i wanted them but i guess they will do....

Right the plan was to Pop up to my brother inlaws on saturday and put the wheels on the car for good, but me being me didnt realise that I had the bolts I required were differant, so we put one side on to see how it would.

Car need to come a bit lower but all in good time...

I'm not too sure what the drop is on it I will work it out at some point, I have taken the adjusters out of the rear and it's all the way down on the front... I am on a hunt for another set of coilovers just waiting to find the right ones... I missed out on H&R set by two days :ashamed:

Used a heat gun doing this set... We Have used a oven in the past to split bora headlights, but since then we've been banned to bake car parts now... only food to be baked in the oven.. :signLOL:

I got bored of the diddy small exhuast tips on the back so I opted for a custom back box delete with stepped 3" polished tips.

Removed the mfd2 satnav and upgraded to a kenwood dnx520vbt due to wanting a bit more out of my system...

Getting few bits sprayed different now as I feel for a change colour (I'm bored)..

Change of coilovers are on the cards, as I'd wanna get the car lower, the eibachs are great but Just need more lows

and yesterday we picked up up another set of MK5 Xenons

After a long process I have managed to get the car back to stranded ish... still oem+ :laugh:.

As it stands:-
-30mm drop on eibach springs
-front usa bumper
-R line grills
-R32 Xenons lights
-BBS CH (reps) running 225/40/18
