Hi guys.
I took my ED30 to the stealers last week as i am having a problem with the rain sensor wipers and lights.I was quoted £400.00 to replace the light rain sensor that is behind the rear view mirror.I can buy the part brand new from Ebay for £90.00 (PN W1K0955559AH) but what i need to know is....................
1.When removing the light rain sensor from the shell will it be glued to the screen ?
2.When replacing the sensor will it need any surface cleaning of the screen or does it just squish against the glass ?
3.Will there be any need for re coding ?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If your capable enough to remove the old sensor, your able to fit the new one!
When you remove the old one, I would personally clean the glass with some isopropyl alcohol wipes and make sure it's spotless and lint free
The new sensor will have the jelly pre applied.
What is actually the matter with yours as it may just be that it isn't seated properly... You can buy a repair kit for the sensors for about 18 quid from the dealers which is the bit which interfaces with the screen - u just place the electronics of your existing sensor into that housing and re fit... I suspect that if your car is finding the sensor as normal it probably is only just a problem with the sensor not mating to the glass properly and an air bubble in there somewhere...
