Title: Anything worth doing now while the head is off?
Post by: ED30_jase on August 21, 2012, 01:53:12 pm
As above my car as previously posted is in for a head gasket replacement is there anything worth doing now while it stripped to save labour down the line? Like cleaning etc...

I know they get dirty inside something maybe along them lines?

Thanks Jase

Cleaning the intake ports but not sure what it would cost to be done right or how long it would take

Intake valves may need cleaning depending on mileage.

So it's the intake ports that get minging? What's the method used to clean these?

Best method the trade use is walnut shell blasting...

Then get WMI with a 75%/25% mix so it never does it again.

I've heard about this.. Don't know anything about it? What does it do exactly?
