Title: Oil pick up pipe

Hi my o8 edtion 30 has 43000 miles have seen that a few oil pumps have gone in the last two weeks . I am thinking of ordering new oil pick up pipe and gasket sealant for the sump does anyone think is a good  idear or am I being to cautious.thanks

Would it make a diiference on how many times the oil gets changed...

less chance of the pick up pipe getting blocked etc

or?

I change oil once a year as I only do 8000 miles

If you dont change the oil often then deposits will build up and cause issues. If you do low mileage and short runs I would change the oil more frequently. I do mine roughly every 3 months as i do lots of short runs now. It is also worth to run an oil cleaner in the engine before changing the oil to help clean the oil pathways. Id prob do one every other oil change for peace of mind
