Hi,
I have been thinking of getting an RNS 510 for my GTI for a few months now, a friend is looking to buy a R32, when looking at the photos of the car I didn't recognise the head unit.
Shown on the third photo, does anyone know what this is? Seems to still look very similar to the RNS 510 even though it is not?

Was wondering if it was a cheaper alternative?
Also, If I do buy an RNS 510 does anyone know of where one could be purchased and fitted with a new CANBUS in East Sussex?
Thank you for your help.

Looks like an after market stereo to me
-
Thats what I was thinking, doesn't look like a VW unit, but looks very similar from a distance.
Chinese knock off?
-
Yep exactly that, cheap Chinese knock off.
False economy to buy one of those. Rather save your pennies and get the RNS. Perfect integration and you know it's going to work.
-
Thats what I thought. Thanks for your help.
I have seen people on here recommending people to buy the RNS off, I am really cack handed with these sort of things, as well as fitting a new CANBUS? (06 GTI)
Where would people recommend to go to near East Sussex?

You can always pm Eddie-NL. He's the guru on here for that sort of thing.
-
Great, thank you.

As already stated Eddie.nl is the man! :drinking:
