Well I've had my mk5 for just over 3 years now during which time its been faultless, never broken down, only routine servicing and no sign of any rust on the front wings.
So how do I reward my faithful car......?
That's right I trade it in for a younger model.

My head was turned by this lovely little red number a 3 door manual with cloth and sat nav, a little short on spec but 6500miles with the balance of the manufacturers warranty and at a good price twisted my arm. I originally was after a white car, but after looking at pictures of redrobin's great car and saint steve's amazing recently detailed red edition 30 decided that red should definately be a option! and I love the colour!
Not much to report so far, is the mk6 a mk5.5???
Yes and No
I think its all the best bits of the mk5 just slightly tweaked and repackaged in a newer shape, but at the end of day its each to their own and I will always have a huge soft spot for the mk5.
Gone but not forgotten.

Well one week on and everything is still going great the colour grows on me more and more especially when the sun shines!
Gave the car a quick detail today, first a wash, then small amount of tar removal, a quick clay (nothing much to report there),one more wash, one coat of autoglym srp, one coat of autoglym extra gloss, then finally some chemical guys butter wet look wax (left over from my black mk5)
Pretty pleased with the end result, but I hear the weather's changing next week :scared:

That's gorgeous!!
Would never touch a red car previously due to bad paint fade but the newer models are looking better and better :happy2:
-
Looks immense! LED rears are spot on.
I've been meaning to get some wax for my TR - I'm using up the last of my Blackfire Wet Diamond just now.
-
I wasn't fond of red when I got my red gt but it grows on you polished up wet look is to die for
-
Good choice of colour and doors :happy2: Get it mapped and enjoy
-
Love the back end of these. Nice looking MK6 bud.
-
Beautiful! :congrats:The Mk6 is really growing on me , I'd love one! They really need the 18" wheel option IMO , even more than the Mk5 did. LED rears looking good too , that would be the first thing I did to a Mk6 of mine if it didnt come with em! :happy2:
-
Very nice! :happy2: I was behind a white GTD today, those LED rears definitely do it for me! You're right, they look pretty much like tweaked versions of the Mk5.

Such a nice colour. And as above. Old red cars tended to fade a lot... My old clio faded!
