I am thinking of buying a golf mark 5 gt tdi, but I had a look into and the golfs with leather seats are working out more expensive. I am thinking of getting a golf with no leather seats and just buying a set of gti or gt tdi leather seats save myself some money what do you guys think? how much would I be looking for a set of leather seats?

Also does the 5 door seats fit in the 3 door version?

The 5-door seats might fit, but how do you think you're going to fold them forward to get people in the back?

someone mentioned that putting 5 door seats in a 3 door car is an MOT failure. how true this is i don't know, but physically they'll fit.

Im no expert but id of thought for the saftey aspect of this it would be against the law, ie if in were to be involved in an accident how would the rear passengers get out in a hurry if the front seats dont tilt forward? :confused:,or shudder to think if it went on fire.

Id buy rear seats from a 5 door as someone is selling them for a good price. But wait to buy the front seats from someone else who has the seats from 3 door so they can tilt!

Take out the rear seats. Save approx. 50kg  :driver:
