Title: Differences in car specific tyres?
Post by: jedi-knight83 on October 18, 2012, 10:12:30 am
Specifically continental.

I've got 2 conti 5p in the shed but noticed they are actually marked r02 which is for audi cars.

What would the actual difference be if I just got another 2 regular versions?

Forget the price... Should I stick with the same type of tyre for the back of the car or is it ok to have the regular ones.

Thanks

Probably a car specific load rating.

Probably a car specific load rating.

the R02 says 88Y. the other one doesnt have a number. just says XL FR (which the other one says as well)

just wondered if it was a different compound or different side wall stiffness etc?

XL is extra load... stiffer sidewall
