Title: Clutch restrictor
Post by: mkviken on November 07, 2012, 06:43:47 pm
Has anyone removed the restriction piece from inside the bleed block?

did it improve clutch feel/bite/modulation/control of the clutch?

can it be got to from the top (remove wire clip and bleed nipple part), or does it need to come out from either the hose or gearbox end?

are new o-rings required to refit the bleed block if it removed?

thanks

Done loads of them.  Doesnt really make the feel much different.  Just seems to return better and in theory should allow faster engagement.

I take the bleed block off.  No need for new seals unless they are fooked.

ok thanks

so does it make the car feel more like a normal or is it not really worth bothering with? the GTI clutch is like nothing I've ever driven before - its utter crap

had a test drive of a focus RS last week and i forgot what a proper clutch should feel like.

how did you get on bleeding it? was it easier once the restrictor was removed?
