Title: Braking Options on Ed30..US or Europe ?
Post by: Msportman on June 20, 2009, 10:30:49 pm
Looking at the array of braking options.

I've had Tarox 6 pots before but their disc and pad replacement prices are horrendous.

Sourcing a kit for a good deal is becoming a bit of a mare. Anyone tried US recently? Pound v Dollar seems a bit better of late.

APS recommend Brembo 1 piece kits at £1300 plus VAT and fitting.

VWR kit is nice but pricey and well proven.

Other kits to consider are

Stoptech
Alcon
AP
Awesome's new range Comp Brake
Tarox

Any others I should consider?

How does the 345 upgrade compare to the 2 piece multi pot kits?

Any advice on sourcing would be great.

AmD are doing good deals on KW's at mo with free fitting!

One thing I did notice the other day in 'performance car' is that the new tt-rs comes with 370mm 4-pots, Whether they'd be cheaper than the options listed is beyond me but people have rightfully claimed the 8 pot rs calipers are often over kill but a 'VAG' based option might be something to consider.

perhaps u can try stasis, n opt for the Alcon brake kit(328mm, 355mm or 370mm, depending on wat size wheels u have).... gd stuff  :happy2:

only issue: ensure u hv a slightly more aggressive offset for your wheels.... to clear calipers
