Hi guys, ive just bought some Ferodo R32 Front brake pads. I know these dont come with pad wear sensors, which im not bothered about really. i check them regularly enough.
i just wondered if you can short the pad sensor and it not bring up any ECU errors.
i have done this on my mk4 but i know the mk5 are a bit more advanced?
-
same way as the mk4 but you could have gone for these as they come with the wire and they are they same make of pad used in the ecs stage 5 kit from awesome

-

already ordered some from balance motorsport. the ones on my anni completely transformed the brakes.
they are the same brakes on the mk4 anni that are on the ed30. how rediculous is that?

lol sounds about right

i couldnt bear the thought of having 300bhp+ with 312mm brakes, i find the limit with these brakes with only 190bhp!

The brakes on the ED30 really are a poor effort from Volkswagen! One of the Eddy's main competitors the Megane R26 comes with Brembo's standard and thats a bloody Renault! The least that Volkswagen could have done was throw the R32 brakes on it as standard not keep the same ones on from its predecessor which was released FIVE YEARS ago!
-
bad thing is they put the r32 brakes on the new cupra and not on ours
-
im putting r32 brakes on my new car, obviously, from the thread. VW told me that the warranty on the brakes would be void even if they fit them! wankers!

tell me about it! that shows there competance in the service side of things right? arse!
-
If you buy pads without indicators you can code out the warning with VCDS. It's in Instruments 17.

The brakes are 1 of the biggest improvements on the S3 over the ED30, the same set-up as the R32
