Sweet ride.

Just one thing though your steering wheel appears to be on the wrong side. I believe it can be fixed though.

I'm usually not a great fan of cars with the Skoda badge but yours has to be the nicest Skoda I've ever seen! Very well modded  :notworthy:

I can't fault its style.

Biggest change in next year will be wheels. I have ordered forged 19" wheels from BT design. 10kg/22lbs each. They have similar design as MTM Bimoto but much lighter.

I prefer the look of your Azeps (unless you don't choose black for the BT's) but lighter weight alloys make a very significant difference you can feel.

I hope they will fit to fender because they are 8x19 ET40 and i want to use 225/35 tyre. Otherwise i will get set of Ground Control camber plates  :happy2:

BT design had 50% off sale so i get this set of forged wheels for 400 £

They will be glossy black to match rest glossy black parts on car. I like combination of black wheels and red calipers.

There is so many types. You need to get index CK or CH. But i am not expert for this. My friend is car electrician and guru for all of this. He installed me Columbus, facelift climatronik, facelift unit of PDC to work with Columbus, etc.

This carbon mirrors was made by local carbon fibre guy. Superskoda offers just covers what is attached by glue to outside. So you have to repaint to black gloss first.

I am looking for some HPFP. Is APR worth the money? I was considering Autotech internals but i have found lot of failures. It is not failure of internals but the seal what is not easy to source.

Fitted. Paid £28 total.

Today is my sh*t day. At morning starter on my daily driver caddy mk2 tdi failed. So i take octy into winter salt streets. And madness continued. When hit brake pedal or shift fast i get serious clunking noise. I feel it from steering wheel, brake pedal and under my seat. I expect dog bone failure or subframe bolts?

In all honesty yes, the APR pump is worth it. for keeping up to date for the past 4 years, to date I am only aware of 1 APR pump failure due to camshaft bucket wearing thru. So not directly the pumps fault.

In saying that, there are members on here that have had almost no issue's with their autotech internals since they revised the whole setup.

In either case check your new camshaft bucket every 2-3000miles for the first 3-6 months. So see wear rate on camshaft (fuel pump follower) follower. I had the follower wear thru in just shy of 3000km's on my own car last year. But from the same batch (lot I ordered and Part number) I have seen people go 20-30000kms, without even a hint of wear.

Your VRS looks great btw, I'm no fan of silver cars in general. But I do like this.  :notworthy:

I think you accidentally inverted/mirrored your interior shots?
The steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car.  :P

What Stage 2 remap choose? I got Milltek TBE, Neuspeed Pflo intake, S3 intercooler. Problem is that i am outside UK and flashing needs to be done remotely. Flashing unit is possible or sending whole ECU. Czech tuner companies are poor, mostly oriented to diesel engines.

Send me a pic of the failed bush please.  How old are the bushes ic the time they have been sat on a shelf before they were fitted.  Designs and compounds have changed.

You can always send me your ECU, but you would have to buy an SPS unit and VCDS to setup the map.

There are two versions with phone what you have and with this circle. Anyway this si pre-facelift car so right side does not work due to incompatibility with old cluster. There is only one guy in Czech republic who can install facelift cluster with working IMMO (i have Fazit already due to late model). So i am considering new cluster or wait for some emulation from PolarFis side.

I have posibility to buy rear ceramic rotors 365mm from A7 (probably other audi models whare ceramic brakes are fitted). I would like to combine them with R8 like 8pistons calipes. I will make custom bells if needed. Do you think it may work together?

I think you'd need ceramic specific calipers for those discs. IIRC the heat management is more critical for the cylinders in the calipers to protect the fluid from the higher temperatures generated by the discs and pads. R8 calipers would be okay if they were ceramic brake calipers, not sure you'd get away with normal R8 calipers designed for steel discs. DaveB is your man to confirm. :happy2:

I found out that they cannot be used with R8 calipers because disc surface is too small.

Ok i will try to swap them.

I am still not sure what remap to take. Next winter i would like to go for K04 rebuild. So now i am looking for normal Stage 2 remap. For K04 i would probably go for Revo or Apr. Problem is i am outside UK so only possibility is flashing tool or sending ecu.

Guys what do you thing about fitting oem tts intake with airbox? Not much happy with p-flo because it takes too much hot air from engine bay.
Title: Re: Skoda Octavia vRS TFSI
Post by: vRSAlex on April 18, 2013, 08:04:29 am
With the tts airbox I think you will need the tts maf sensor housing and the maf.  I dont know if the scaling for the maf is the same as normal though.

What about the Revo intake kit? Open cone but has a really good heat shield that also directs the air to the filter. Combined with a large hose from the front side grille its perfect.
Title: Re: Skoda Octavia vRS TFSI
Post by: Vasekk on April 18, 2013, 09:56:31 am
Check this. It is custom piping from turbocharger including MAF housing with GTI/VRS MAF sensor...and it is connected to OEM TTS/RS filterbox. So fo me it would be possible to cut p-flo and connect OEM airbox. Revo kit is nice but i can get TTS airbox much cheaper and have OEM look.

I am still not sure about intake upgrade. Like the OEM way with TTS/TTRS intake with custom piping for MAF. Is enclosed, probably quiet and other benefit is relocation battery to trunk and weight distribution. Even HGP uses it for their conversions so it could not be bad.

IMO, if you manage to get the intake done with a small budget, go for it.

Otherwise, keep the cash safe and direct it to something else.
I'm sure you have some other ideas on the table (like maybe becoming Revo dealer in CZ).

It seems to be bit wet by oil but nothing extensive.  Is it even possible to have oil on exhaust turbine? It could happen possibly by transport. Oil lines were not wrapped.

I am ordering last parts for DV relocation and K04 installation parts. Is it worth to buy some kind of billet DV valve housing? Original part is bit expensive so there is not much difference to billet part.

OEM

Just make sure the billet housings are 40mm at the bottom and 25mm at the side.

I have ordered OEM one. So all is now ordered except throttle pipe. I am still open for intake system.. Revo, ITG or VWR. Not sure what version of VWR intake would fit VRS. They offer versions for Golf R, S3 and Cupra.

I would like to get this one.

If you buy this, don't attach it to the engine using the bracket on the TBP, the fitment is very bad and you may end up with the TBP jumping out of the silicone hose fitted to the intake. Mine did that on my last track day resulting in the TBP disabling the fans and the car overheating  :sad1:
Quick fix but a pain when it happens. Just let it be held by the 2 silicone hoses, it allows for more flex  :happy2:

wowzers!

Regarding alignment, from memory mine's running -1.1 camber at the front, -1.5 at the rear with virtually zero toe, seems to work well.  The neg camber on the front really helps the turn-in.  I've had more neg camber on the front and although it's even better in the turns (and would be great on the track) it'll wear the inside tyre edges if you do a lot of straightline driving like i do on my long commute.

Car has been flashed by APR to Stage 2 yesterday. I am so happy with that so far. Solid power till the end of rev range. APR made my day :))

My friend became APR dealer for Czech Republic so it is very close to me for additional upgrades and updates. For me APR and Revo are competitive. If he would go for Revo i would have Revo right now or get it from you.

Is the map torque limited? Hence the dip instead of the peak :)

It is normal APR Stage 2 map. Just need to fit HPFP to see next improvement.

The HPFP is midrange, you lack the torque from app. 2300 to app. 3400rpm that is typical for the K04 turbo  :happy2:

APR HPFP fitted, first change of cam follower, RS4 fprv fitted (that was bit pain to fit). DV rev D swapped to rev G.
