Title: Help!!! Changing 6 cd changer to iPod

Hi I have a mk5 Gti with a 6 cd changer in the arm rest so I bought a iPod mdi to swap but I've tried fitting it and the connectors are different the one on the loom is rectangle and the one on the mdi is square anyone no if you can get adapters and if you can what the called and there can I get them ?

The MDI requires a different loom from the HU and I think the MDI only works with the most recent HU's like the rns510 etc. The only one you can swap the cd player for with out swapping looms is the iPod dock

Nodz is correct. The mdi unit only works with 2nd generation headunits (not the rcd300 or rcd500 for example). I'm pretty sure EddieNL on here could get you one. You won't remove the cd changer lead as it is part of the main loom so you jut feed the mdi loom under the console to the headunit

Just to correct my previous post I was meaning that Ed could get you the cable  :happy2:
