First off, it was good to put some faces to names yesterday. Widget, Markymark ( my brolly really, really did only touch your headlamp :ashamed: :embarrassed: :ashamed: :embarrassed: ), Toast ( + his mate, sorry I forgot your name ), TC and his Awesome "Bitchin" Rims, Red Robin at last after 3 years and again Nousey, gald you got the splitter sorted it looked great.
Secondly I thought Inters was about as I expected it to be on the Saturday, a bit low key and bordering on dissapointing. Turn out was very poor compared to what I remember from years ago. No doubt today will be much better and I'm pi55ed off I can't be there due to a family commitment. :sad1:
I hope for everyones sake the officials are a bit more organised today, as yesterday was a bloody shambles, with nobody knowing where the hell to go or where their club stand was. It doesn't take a genius to come up with some small flags on sticks to point the way. :confused: Good that we have a banner for our pitch, which looks great by the way.
Best bits for me were the absolutely mint MkII in Mars Red on the Show n Shine :love:,
The REVO Girl who was so obviously dipped in hot wax :drool:
The Blue Mk3 with the 2 VR6 lumps, running 10's :jumping:
Plus a special mention for the Mint Aero Milk shakes :party:
I'll get some pics up tomorrow as I don't have time today. :happy2:

Saw some lovely cars, looked round a few trade stands, watched a bit of sprinting....
Loving the 10sec Twin-Engined Caddy :surprised:
Was good to see the Ian Birch built MK3 Polo coupe with the mid-mounted 20v out again too....
COVERED in insect bites though... Most tedious!

Just arrived back from Inters Today (sunday) and was great to see everyone, we filled our Stand with loads of members cars!!. Was great to meet Mr
small fruit Verry Cherry, finally to meet Mr Teutonic Tamer (shaun) , great lunchtime Natter on the Rug with them (pics to come on that no doubt), and be thanks To Ian (Hedge) for sorting my gremlins with Vcds to get Phylis back to full health :smiley:.
Great to see lots of the Forum members, ran outa time to speak to everyone, and a Quick picture snap of the stand, before loads more will no doubt appear as the evening goes on.

Was an awesome time. Enjoyed it more than springfest. A lot more banter too.
Some awesome dubs. Some fit birds including that revo chick with her camel toe! Best of all, got to meet some new faces and figure out who was who (mostly).
Apologies for the state of my car. I spent all day yesterday doing it up and when I was buffing off marks here and there, I'd spot even more. Ended up getting fed up and went indoors, so the car was less than optimal.
Steve, loved the sound of the miltek.
PS on the way out did anyone else notice the muppet in the M5 doing donuts then fishtailing it out into the exit queue, nearly smacking in to another car and then getting told off by one of the 'officials'?
PPS How many others were stuck in traffic. Huge amounts on the M1, M40, A34 and M27.

Had a fantastic couple of days bearing in mind what a sh*te day Friday was!
Today was a massive contrast to Saturday as it was very quiet and the weather wasn't as good! Good to see you all again over the last few days, and good to meet a few new faces! :happy2:

Good to meet some new faces today and the old ones again :happy2:.Was bloomin hot today as well.
Highlights for me today were finding out that Newton Commercial have finished the MKII Golf carpets, getting to sit in all the MK6's & Roccos, buying more detailing products(great serv from autoperfection again) had some good chats with VW Racing :happy2: to RR for introducing me to one of their guys :happy2:.really liked the sun visors that were on Hedge's Ed30 def going to get a set of them. Phil's carbon wrap has convinced me to get some done to.
Its official I hate the M1 and crazy zigzagging bikers.

Camping over with Joe, Jay, Steph, Kim and Adam was hilarious, it got a bit silly after a few too many beers and a rave tent got mixed into the equation! :signLOL:

I lost my strip virginity today and I gotta say im hooked! I had the car revo'd whilst down there and the way it performed on the strip made my day. Im gonna sound like im blowing my own trumpet here but I need to share my excitement!
My first run I came up against an R32 Turbo from the JBS stable. I managed to leave him off the start and he never caught up, I won that one by about four car legnths!
Times (Run 1)
0-60 - 4.92 secs
1/4 Mile - 13.497 secs
My second run was the worst of the day, car bogged BIG TIME on the line and the Seat something or other I was racing left me. I
managed to have him by the end of the 1/4 mile.
Times (Run 2)
0-60 - 5.82 secs
1/4 Mile - 14.435 secs
My last run saw me coming up an RS6 Avant that had been revo'd, exhaust, intake etc etc. I had already conceeded defeat on the line. I managed to get a good start using launch control as did he. For some reason or other I left him straight away gaining about two car legnths. It stayed like that until the last few seconds of the run where he started to gain a little, I still managed to pip him by a car legnth, I could not believe it! :evilgrin:

1/4 Mile - 13.284

I liked the car Tom I would keep the alloys as they are :happy2: Revo seems to be the future nothing better than a new map and some 1/4 mile sprints.

Oh god, my best mate spent over £400 on that stand today, full carpet set, door cards and leather bits for his MK1, and then a rear screen and seals at Crazy Quiffs!
Wow the weather was hot hot hot! I checked the weather and they all said rain so I wore a jacket and jeans...big mistake as I'm still red from heat exhaustion!
It was a very good show, my only criticism is that the club stands were in a silly place behind the trade stands...once you got onto the airfield you kinda forgot about the club cars!
What bargains did you all get? I got a complete "smokers pack" ashtray assembly with a mesh type surround and lid for £5 and a brand new Votex rear valance for £70.
And what was everyones car of the show? I was torn between a very nice early white MK1 Golf and a blue MK1 Derby. I've wanted a Derby for years, and that one fuelled my passion even more!

This was my fist VW show and if i'm honest I was dissapointed. I've only ever been to RS shows before, some regional but mainly national day so i guess thats what i'm juding it against. The trade stands were a little bit poor and it was scattered all over the place. The sprint action was very good but it got too hot to stand there. The Mk1 GOlf was quick as were the JBS R32's.
The quality of the show and shine cars was dissapointing too, some were nice but most were a little tatty certainly not what I expected. I missed the club stand, i guess you were stuck right out of the way, the most impressive thing of the day ..... the bucaneer being fired up on the taxi way :)

Nice to meet you too mate and seems like you're well happy with being another member to join the Revo stable.. :wink: Footwear didn't hinder me at all in the end as I did it bare foot.. :grin: But for some reason when I changed up to 2nd it upshifted twice to 3rd and ruined the run.. :sad: Still did a 5.7 and 13.8 (IIRC) without using 2nd gear, so shows John's car has got some serious shove, especially as he has the right software now :laugh: :signLOL:.
On a serious note though I would just like to say a big thanks to John for letting me do his last run and was great to be back behind the wheel of a Ed30, just didn't want to give it back and had my bottom lip out all the way home.. :grin:
Show for me was one of the best i've been to and I didn't even have my car. Mixture of some nice motors, good strip action, cracking weather and really good to see everyone again :happy2:
I have some vids that I will put up soon of a few of you guys. Oh and I have to take my hat off to Tom too, awesome times mate and was proper funny watching you dust that RS6.. :grin:

Serious lack of the usual showcars, I suspect they're all in hiding for ED38 and such.... which was no bad thing, to be fair, as it meant it was very club stand and strip action centric, certainly made for a good day.
I walked through the stand a couple of times, looked fantastic but missed most of you as you were out and about. Caught a few in the strip queue though and had a good natter.

Street mode and a boot full of crap, Revo settings wound down (K03 car, stage 2 @ 5/5/9) as I only got the faulty DV replaced at the last minute
I've no real idea of what the car is capable of, as the driver let it down, any of you tell me what it should be running/anyone run a similar car and have times???

And my car as well, i think they were the new HLT version which are even lighter. The 17in version only weigh 6.35 kg :rolleye: and the come in 7 colours. Pricey though. :sad:

This may help, it may not.... At the Pod my car with very similar mods to yours was running 14.085. That was with no weight stripped out, Revo at B7 T5 F9, and with me going very very casually at the start so to not fcuk up the clutch, and short shifting in first. :smiley:

Ha ha - cheers guys, confirms my thoughts that it was me and not the car that was slow!!!
I'm no strip virgin, but it was the first time I've done it in the MK5 or a DSG car. I'll get it running full capacity and get it down to the 'Pod for a real idea of what it/I can do.

Going back to Inters, I'll also mention Nousy's wheels looked absolutely lush in their new colour. Very impressed. Everyone elses were great too, huge credit to you all... I didn't even bother cleaning the wheels - ha ha!!
I await vids & pics, I'm off to make some use of my last day off, give her a good clean now and de-Martini stripe.

Thanks for that. On the Nike website, on some of the trainers, you can choose the colours for each bit of material. I went for a GTI-influenced look. Love them.
The rims - at the mo, have neither the cash nor the storage for them. :sad:

Love your 'GTI'-style Nike's, stealth! I love Nike anyway and those are my favourite colours - I'm very jealous.
Good to see lots of people and met quite a few new ones too and not just on this forum. Keith and VC in particular, and special mention of how great it was to chat with Claire and fella again, even though it was devilishly hot. Obviously I was running around a bit between BIALI, VWR, etc but we all had a great time - The best Inters yet for me. Also, us BIALI boys had a great night out dancing at Manilla's in Leicester.
I didn't get home until late Monday night - Was up at VWR and fetched one of the Mk5 track cars back from Bruntingthorpe which is road legal - Awesome isn't the word! Who cares how noisy it is stripped out and if I got betty swollocks from being so tightly strapped in!

Well for my first GTI Inters I thought it was good, expensive at £17 on Sunday but had a good day, but spent most of the time trying to get rid of the bloody pesky thunder flies that loved my yellow t-shirt!! As soon as the sun came out they attacked me en-mass!!!
Had about 50+ of the little beggers on me at one point whilst chatting to VC, so had to go buy another tshirt!!!!!! :laugh: :laugh:

yeah liquid yellow, went to get a red one but changed my mind at last min, good car, brembos and a diff, dont you lot have to go to vwr for them on your rep mobiles? :P to be honest was gonna get an r32 or ed 30 but i love my renault sports

will give its dews its feels very well built for french, but i may as well tell you before that t**t does, when i took it up to see matt as i shut the door bit off trim fell off :signLOL:
