Title: Santa Pod - Run What Ya Brung....
Post by: WhiteGTI on June 29, 2009, 11:35:06 am
Lets try and get another meet at one of these events! Good opportunity to see eachothers' cars and a bit of competitiveness in there as well

Run What Ya Brung is on the following dates:

Sunday 9 August
Saturday 15 August
Sunday 23 August
Saturday 5 September
Saturday 19 September

Personally, the 9 August sounds good to me! What is everyone else's thoughts?

LOL - it's my local one I've done man and boy, so ingrained.

The one on the 19th of Sept appeals - No holiday traffic, bulk of the shows out of the way, possibly quieter??

I can't go, Lee - gutted as I am, I can't change my plans to spare the 5 days. Trying for a low key October trip instead.

Are we having any set of gentleman's rules, or is it just every man for himself? i.e. - no race fuel/octane booster, no slicks, no aerodynamic chest & leg waxes, no jet engines.....

Mine will have no rear seats, no spare wheel/toolkit and will be on V-Power & road tyres. Sound a fair benchmark??

If I get to play, the car will have just the normal spare removed...and that is it. I like to see how she does in full road trim :happy2:

Why do you remove the spare then, do you remove the sub too?

I was just thinking in terms of what is easy enough for everyone to do to reduce weight and keep an even-ish playing field... rear seats are a 10 minute job. Might not technically be full road trim, but we're also playing for pride against the other marques that'll be there, so I want to stuff 'em good!!

Obviously Jonny should be ballasted accordingly - ha ha!

I suppose I could be tempted to remove the rear seats, although the amp is attached to the rear of the seat, so it would be much more than a 10 minute job for me :scared:

The sub of course will be out. I didn't mention it as it always comes out for the pod
