....I get the impression that most folks on this forum are happy with their job - I hope so just for their happiness!
No job, no matter how perfect, is always happy every single day of the year - It's the overall job satisfaction which matters.

I love my job. I'm lucky in that it's what I've always wanted to do. I'm not a workaholic though, I try very hard to maintain a good work/life balance. Whilst working my way up the ladder I used to have to work a lot of over time and it started to erode my passion for what I do. My family is always number one.

Me too. Love my job. :happy2:
The good days, bad days, dull days and exciting days make the whole and i wouldn't change a thing. For me, my job is something I do to pay for the things I want to do in life when I'm not there. My family have always come first and my job is a poor, distant second in that regard. I'd much rather be known for who I am and not what I do.

I left school as quick as I could and tried a couple of jobs before settling into the construction industry at about 18. I spent about 11 enjoyable years on the tools (Mainly Groundwork & Bricklaying) before taking up a role in Hong Kong as a Project Manager for a Swiss Lift and Escalator Company.
I have been working around South East Asia with them for almost 14 years now and currently in Hong Kong but commuting to Macau as the Project Director for the lifts and escalator installations on a new Hotel & Casino Complex that is being built there.

....Perhaps I should suggest to some local people I know that they should rename themselves as an "Automotive Recycling Centre", although they do rather more than just recycle cars. I don't think that such a grand title will keep the local Police off their backs though, not that they care about that.
So, do you get many Golf GTI's in your yard then?
-
Well this is my company vehicle.....As well as boring everybody about brakes this is the other thing I do, it looks dead glamorous but it isnt. It can have its moments both very good and very bad, the aircraft itself is a beast of a thing its got lots of power (bout 6 tonnes of thrust to as little as 10 tonnes of weight) which is as near as you're going to get to flying a fighter without working for Queenie. Here it is sat in the middle east, im off to collect it on Friday and then spend a further two weeks avoiding yellow fever and Malaria. My brother flys an Airbus and latterly a 737 for an airline and brags about getting to Malaga in 34 button presses, my thing is quite a bit more involving in a good way - imagine a stage 2 RS3 compared to a Duplo Coach!
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fw69%2Fdave_brown1970%2FGCPRR_zps873aa7cc.jpg&hash=b60c2384b7211915a57e8b1e6a6be1279169d47c)
heres a great pic of us just departing Cyprus and overhead Jordan with a substantial tailwind we've got a supersonic groundspeed, the sun is rising from the east and we're doing 650mph towards it.....it literally went from dark to daylight in 15 seconds, just managed to grab my Iphone and snap it, can get busy on the radio organising overflights and getting clearances etc and the last thing you want is an F15 waving at you at 40000ft at a range of 10 yards, wasnt going to let this one escape though. Apologies for crappy pic but you get the idea

I love the pic of the plane :) I started learning to fly in a Piper PA-28 Cherokee which is obviously nothing like what you fly but it was only for my PPL which was being funding for me through a disability charity/Battle Back (a kind of military group/charity set up by RAF) I found it great but had to give it up as I didn't see myself flying as a career after speaking to quite a lot of pilots and hearing it's not as glamorous or easy as people may think.
Great second picture too! :)
