Hello everyone here.
I like to thank everyone with all the information people has posted.
I just got my new 08 golf gti dsg and its sometimes jerks on stand still to 1st gear. I test drove it 2 times before I bought it from a private seller as I knew all to well about dsg jumping. The dsg oil was changed in June.
I have read that you can do a reset on the dsg using vcds. I have looked at the list of people with vcds but I can't pm them without posting 10, I am staring now.
If anyone can help me I live Orpington and I dont mind traveling for some help.

....Does the jerking usually happen when the engine is cold? DSG oil ideally needs to reach a warm operating temperature.
At what mileage was the DSG service done and what mileage is she on now that she's jerking?

I do need your friends help.
I went to vw dealer today, and they said there no recalls on the car.
Could you ask your friend if I could meet up one evening or weekend to do a rest to see if it can cure this jerk on take off.

....So didn't you show them this VOSA information? :surprised:

Surely they can't argue with that!

I just checked the date of registration 20th June 2008. vosa recall start from 01.09.2008

....The dates VOSA give on the 'recall' are probably based on known information. As your build date is so close I would definitely speak to VW UK about it. The VOSAinfo might need revising.
You have nothing to lose by contacting them: 0800 083 3914.

Thanks for the number I will give them a call to see what they say.
I've got a forum member to help me to do a rest using vcds, hopefully tomorrow. If that don't work.
Can the dealers find out if I been tempering around with the ecu..... Will it void the recall?

...."tampering around with the ecu" :surprised: That sounds dodgy! Or do you mean you've simply had a remap from an established and respected tuner?
Any dealer driving your car who is familiar with the GTI should be able to feel if it has been remapped by its increased performance but the DSG box of tricks and ECU are independent and so it shouldn't matter. If you have Revo you can switch to their 'stock' map. But you can't hide a remap from anyone who really wants to find out, such as an insurance company, no matter what some tuners will tell you.

I think he means, can the stealers see that he recalibrated the DSG?
If so, it might show it has been recalibrated. But cannot be 100% I'm afraid. Either way, the car is not being "tampered" with so, no reason to refuse repair etc.

Thanks for clearing that up, GLIDN :happy2:
I don't know how a VW dealer would be able to tell if a DSG box has been remapped or not without consciously checking its Mechatronics software at deeper level - Highly unlikely I would have thought.
