Title: OBD problem
Post by: Jamminjim on February 03, 2013, 11:14:01 am
Fitted a carbon surround to my dials yesterday...looks lovely I might add but its fired up my airbag warning light now. Plugged my OBD code reset tool in this morning to remedy the problem but all I keep getting is a 'link error' warning coming up. Everything I read tells me its not compatible with the car but I've used it before and it was fine.... Anyone else had a problem like this??  :scared:

I assume you never removed the steering wheel and you rechecked that the cluster plug was sitting back correctly and you never bent any pins?

If all looks correct-Then my next move would be to disconnect the battery and leave for 10 minutes and start from scratch - see what codes comes up and try clearing them one at a time with the tool you've got!

If you do disconnect the battery read this for some pointers.

If problems still exist its then a scan with VCDS TOOL!

I didn't need to remove the steering wheel and everything else seems to be fine so I'm guessing the pins are all ok....I might take it out again just to check tho (you've got me worried now!)

Thanks for the reply!

Never worry, just think a bit harder and work smarter!

Come back after checking if problems still exist.
