Title: Fuse battery drain 'fix'
Post by: Palooza on February 19, 2013, 04:32:56 pm
Hi I've been reading a thread on here about a fuse fix to stop the battery drain on the newer stereos. Unfortunately it only got minimal replies on any of the websites I found so I have a question or two if anybody is willing to help me.

First off the guide I followed: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=37977.0

Next my question, I connected the fuse exactly shown above, but the stereo doesn't come on when I turn the ignition on. It does however come on manually (This is fine while I get some money together for the canbus fix).. but I would prefer it if it came on with the key.

Is there another fuse it can connect to, to make it come on with the key?

My fuse box (The red circles are where I did connect the connectors on the modified fuse thingie)

this should only be used as a temp fix
