I have searched a little on this but haven't seem to find anything on them although I am a newbie. Does anyone on here not do the bsh pcv mod and catch tank for helping with the conspicuous valve clogging?
-
I think alot of folk just use the latest oem pcv.
As for myself, I use the bsh catch can setup in an effort to delay intake valve deposition of carbon.
-
Ah ok cool. Think I may do the pcv bsh mod

The catch cans do not work on the TFSi, as when under boost the excess pressure is vented via the rear tube which goes down into the turbo. This then goes back into the air intake and pulls through oil. So unless a catch can is fitted on that port they are pretty useless. The VW race cars don't use catch cans and have the OE PCV fitted. I have tried them all and the car ran far better with the PCV fitted.

Also, you will always get some oil through the tubo seals anyway :sad1:
VRSAlex mentioned again the other day how a catch can has done nothing to help keep his valves clean

Hmmm interesting read guys ants for the advice, I have seen a few guys now swear blind that the catch can helps on the Gti, more so Ryan from regal is dead keen on fitting one to every car. Maybe you guys are right though and ill get the latest pcv revamp if not already fitted.cheers

Here's a post from Alex saying he had to re-clean his inlet valves after only 10k miles WITH a catch can fitted. Proof enough that they don't work:
