Just got myself a lovely Mk4 1.8T GTI... 91k on the clock, FVWSH, all MOTs, 2003 52 plate, black with new tyres and in excellent condition... £2800 :jumpmove: Bargain! I'm decommissioning the Ed30 and that is going into the garage only to venture out for shows, the Drag Strip  and the occasional track day....
Will be picking up the car next weekend and it'ill be used as a family car/runaround until next year when my wife wants a GTI-R :surprised: TBH, I'll probably keep it past then for myself as for some reason, I really enjoyed the test drive in it even though the suspension felt like jelly - that will be sorted soon enough though. I'll be getting RTech to do the honours...

Oi... cheeky git      To be honest, I was surprised at how much I liked the ride! And it seemed to pull away noticeably quicker than my wife's Mk4 GTI she had a couple of years back. Maybe its a 180 version? Anyway, it doesn't matter as soon it will be a 210 version

Ditto, don't know why either. The mk5 is better in almost every way but I miss my old 1.8T...
Fantastic engines in those..

Nice one Nadeem! :congrats:
Although I think your first job should be to cover that woodette on the dash!
I too had a MK4 of around that time and it was a great car, oh and the wife loved it more than any car weve owned? :rolleye:

Good purchase, I had 03 MKIV GTI 180 AUQ remaped , for some reason the 150 models get a higher bhp difference when mapped, fitted a full Milltek, front and rear ARB's from Eibach and a K&N panel filter, Dog bone mount :fighting: reckon it was good for 230bhp.
Fancy a Anni one myself after the MKII is finished.

Sounds good, I will always have a soft spot for MK4's, I had one as my first set of wheels :happy2:

Can't see the car in the link mate but bet it was nice.
Before I saw and bought the mk5, I was hankering after a black Mk4 GTI 1.8T. Plan was to buy a decent condition MK4 for £6-8k and spend £3k or so on mods. Even now, despite having a mk5, a black mk4 golf will turn my head and I am still lusting after a mk4 1.8T GTI but don't have the cash nor the space!

Cool. ive got a Silver 1.8T at the moment as a fill in, mapped it goes quite well but corners are abit :surprised:

I was a bit teary eyed when handing mine over..The Mrs is still mad at me....
