Hi can any one give me some info.
My 2007 gt tdi 140 cut out and now wont start it will turn over but wont fire.
It started spluttering then just cut out.
Is there any common faults that is likely to be the cause?
Also could anyone tell me what fuses and relays control the fuel pump etc?
Thanks

My fuel pump went on my tdi few weeks back.
Can you hear it when turning on the ignition from the rear seats?
If not get the back seat up and check if it's getting power to it.
If it is then your most likely gonna need a new on.
If not then check the fuse.

Im thinking that it may be the pump so going to look at it tomorrow.
Do you know which fuse controls the pump? Or know where I could find a complete fuse layout?
I dont seem to have one with my car.
Thanks for the reply

Has it had the fuel injector and loom recall?
-
looks like it is the pump.
spent a few hours today checking this and that.
was no fuel in the fuel filter. checked wiring going to the fuel pump (in the tank) for a live which was fine. took the pump out and tested the pump its self but no joy
will be getting a new one in the morning so fingers crossed that will solve it.

Did you get this sorted? Looking into golf gt tdi so reading up on common faults :)
-
Yes was the fuel pump. Got one from the motor factors just over £100 so not to bad
-
Is there fuel in it?lol
-
Has it had the fuel injector and loom recall?
As I am someone else who drives a '04 GT TDI , should this be something to be worried about ?
-
I'm pretty sure the injector and loom recall is only on the 170bhp engine
-
Correct. The Fuel injector and loom recall relates to the BMN 170bhp engine.
-
Theres an injector recall on 140bhp engines, I know that for sure because I know numerous people who've had it. I think it just applies to <100k miles however!
-
The injector and wiring loom recall only applies to the BMN 170bhp engine. The injectors on the 140bhp engine are different.
-
its only the piezo injector seals that are the issue...
as above only on BMN engine..
