I've been toying with the idea of a dsg map for a while but still not 100%, has anyone had their dsg remapped and regretted it?

No regrets here...
-
Which map are you thinking of getting?
I have the GIAC one and it's great, you'll really feel the extra torque you get.
-
The DSG map on it's own it one of the greatest mods you can do.
It's a 1000x better than the standard map that VW installed it with.
:happy2:
-
how much is the GIAC dsg map ?
-
No regrets but I got mine FOC..... :innocent:
-
Only regret I have was going for the Custom Code DSG map. it was Utter pants compared with the GIAC DSG map. The GIAC DSG map is fantastic. :happy2:

Hey Hurdy,
Can you give us more details on the GIAC map. What real benefits does it have and how can you feel the improvement, as i been thinking about it for a while.

Had an R-Tech DSG map on my Eddy and it was great, its a must if you plan on going stage 2 or above

I was thinking of revo mainly because I'm stage 2+ with them already, I am concerned the box will become a bit frantic for daily driving

Does it make it less powerful and more linear ? :signLOL: :chicken:

I had Revo stage 2+ and revo DSG software on the ED30 and it worked very well indeed. :happy2:
-
so if i had a map on the dsg, could i achieve the following...
1, can d mode be left as it is?
2, when manually changing down, can you engage the lower gear any sooner than before?
thanks
-
1. Yes
2. As long as it is within the upper reach of the rev range and not in the red, then you can change down the gear.
:happy2:
-
A questions I have always had about DSG ( I shall be getting it when I get an R ) . Does it blip the throttle when you change down?

Or if you're down South then Regal Autosports in Southampton can do it as well - they did mine :happy2:

Bar the exhaust the DSG map on mine (revo) is the best mod i have done.
Just now need to the issue with the + paddle (intermittant) and then all is back to sweet.

Replacing the "flap" should do it..... :happy2:
