Title: DSG map - regrets?
Post by: chris s on March 06, 2013, 07:41:53 am
I've been toying with the idea of a dsg map for a while but still not 100%, has anyone had their dsg remapped and regretted it?

Which map are you thinking of getting?
I have the GIAC one and it's great, you'll really feel the extra torque you get.

The DSG map on it's own it one of the greatest mods you can do.

It's a 1000x better than the standard map that VW installed it with.

I was thinking of revo mainly because I'm stage 2+ with them already, I am concerned the box will become a bit frantic for daily driving

I had Revo stage 2+ and revo DSG software on the ED30 and it worked very well indeed. :happy2:

so if i had a map on the dsg, could i achieve the following...

1, can d mode be left as it is?

2, when manually changing down, can you engage the lower gear any sooner than before?

thanks

1. Yes
2. As long as it is within the upper reach of the rev range and not in the red, then you can change down the gear.

A questions I have always had about DSG ( I shall be getting it when I get an R ) . Does it blip the throttle when you change down?

Bar the exhaust the DSG map on mine (revo) is the best mod i have done.

Just now need to the issue with the + paddle (intermittant) and then all is back to sweet.
