Title: Is this right?
Post by: E30Dom on March 06, 2013, 08:50:29 pm
Hi guys,

After saturday and Jim saying my handbrake was crap, hence it was lifting out the rollers and they had to chock the rear wheels i thought I'd adjust my handbrake... to find this...

(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fv108%2Fax_vts_dom%2FB4E8121F-362A-4BCB-A365-0989F4E74C91-414-00000339774F18D4_zps1f35d037.jpg&hash=3f7ba3c1e2d4e180633f4d31313c28d0c01c4b10)

Is this right,? Looks bent, but there's no stress fracture or split, and the cable seems to meet with it...

Took the 1/2" of slack out and now feels loads better...

Anyone?

Dom

Did you adjust it after fitting the S3 rears?

Not bent as mine is like that. I'd say they should at least be even though?

Could be a fooked cable.  Take a look at them when its on the ramp next to do the suspension.

I reckon one cable is stretched more than the other due to the seized caliper... Which garage sorted when replaced rear pads a few weeks ago...

Cheers guys...

Will change when I can find a black s3 rear kit...
