Title: Help me fit my new Exhaust please???
Post by: big al on July 27, 2009, 05:29:41 pm
Hi all, bought this off an e bay seller: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=330343715921
Can you explain to me how I can fit it in place of my original one? Do I need to buy any other parts, or what?
(paid £200 for it, did I get an OK deal there?)
Thanks all,
Oh, and if anyones around the Midlands area who knows how let me know and I may just let you fit it for me too!

Just had a look, and the exhaust appears to be one large piece, the clamp is next to the cat towards the front of the car.
Looks like I would have to saw a piece of the exhaust off for the new clamp to go on (which I have no intention of doing!)

Is this really a new cat back as the description "IN NEW CONDITION" suggests to me that it's used...

it is used, and is only the back box, i nearly bought it but thought £200 was dear for a back box, when you can get the whole cat back system new for £300, you may need to get the cat back bits for it as it will be a different bore to the standard system, i think you payed to much for it to be honest as it is only the back box, cat back pipe is going to cost you around a £100+ i would of thought, you would of been better buying a brand new one and not used one as you would of got warranty with it.. as i think miltek only warranty there stuff if you have bought it from new!!!!!!

I have looked on Awesome, but have heard some people aren't too keen on them due to poor customer service.

Go direct to Milltek if you decide to go for new! :happy2:
If not get an independent garage to fit it, it shouldnt take long!

Get the resonated. If you're deaf like Red get the nonres. To my ears res can still be fun but easier on the ear.
Also, get the full turboback if you can. No idea how much Miltek sell for, but that's where you'll see performance improvement. Catback will be mostly for looks only.

Milltek do not deal direct to the public I am afraid
They have dealers , but a call to Milltek or an email , they can direct you to the nearest dealer to you

AL, had the same thoughts and questions as yourself about RES or NON RES. was looking for something quiet. A non res system was delivred by mistake so fitted it to see what it was like. All i can say is that its still on and defo doesnt sound loud. I have the full turbo back system and it fits the bill perfectly.
Hope this helps

Bi of an update,
Got my exhaust, and arrived today, my Milltek Res centre section.
Is there anything else I need now? Anyone got any pics of a run through, or just a runthrough for that matter.
Thanks  :happy2:
