I can imagine, although the brakes fitted before ripped your face off, so god knows how good these are!!

Sitting in Costa Coffee in Bedford town centre while the S3 gets sorted by Alex.
Mikes Cupra goes quite well, not as quick as mine off the line though, got it parked up in the NCP :signLOL:
-
Make sure you obliterate the front tyres. Mike has been buying up all available tyres from classifieds for a few years, so has plenty left! :happy2: :innocent:
-
I was there friday - didn't realise the red cupra was the AKS courtesy car..

Still sitting here in the workshop
Here are a few pics of the work going on!!

Long day for Alex!
-
:signLOL: yes and fu#%ing freezing, my feet are about to fall off!!!! :jumping:
I may use the heater in your car Mike to warm me toes up :innocent:
-
Almost finished putting her together now :jumpmove:
Great job by Alex!!!

Few weeks ago the fronts had hardly any tread! :p
-
What spacer are you using on the throttle body?
-
I think Jussa is still on his way home Dokez!
-
Just walked in about 40 minutes ago, absolutely knackered and off to bed!!!
Thanks for the great job Alex!!! :drinking: :congrats: :drinking:
-
So how ws the drive home?
-
The drive home was great.
The only issue I've discovered now is because the water/meth makes the mid range awesome and doesn't lose power high up the rev range my DSG map is incorrect. I just emailed Regal now to get hold of GIAC to tweak it. In manual mode she changes up by herself before the limiter and even before 7000rpm  you really feel the difference now as she just wants to keep on pulling, where as before it didn't bother me. My 0-60 time should be better as well once this is sorted. :jumpmove:
What an absolute mission for the fitting yesterday 8am till 10pm. Alex did warn me though, but I needed my car so couldn't leave it with him.
Alex was brilliant, and his quality of work is 2nd to none!!, :drinking: :congrats: :drinking:
-
Sounds awesome Justin good work!! Let us know how you get on with tweaking the dsg map. :happy2:
-
Doesnt the GIAC DSG map remove the auto shifter like the REVO one does?
-
Doesnt the GIAC DSG map remove the auto shifter like the REVO one does?
This is what Alex said as well, at least to the rev limiter :sad1:
-
Well it should do... on mine you can sit in 2nd gear and hit the RPM limiter and it wont change gear. Whats what the GIAC one should do too, if it doesnt then :surprised:
-
Exactly, that's why I've told Regal Autosport to speak to GIAC, so hopefully it will be sorted quickly. Does yours get to 60 in 2nd??
-
Yes i think it does... just over 60
-
Interesting, no wonder Hurdy does below 4 every run :signLOL:
Lets see what GIAC come back with
-
Here you go...
-
This video is private. :booty:
-
fixed
-
:happy2:
Certainly got some go.
-
GIAC have two options for their stage 2 maps and one allows gearing up at the redline in manual and the other doesn't. You've obviously got the one that does. I opted for gearing up automatically to be left in mine as I specified a shift point of 7450 rpm's and I really don't want it to hit the rev limiter and sit there at that rpm. I always shift before this though unless specifically doing a 0-60 run.

Mmmmm, but mine doesn't go to the limiter, it changes just before the redline????

More on the meth install!
-
:signLOL: did one run today, a 3.96 0-60 and it feels immense in the midrange, stronger than yesterday :jumping:
Alex reckons the ECU will still be learning so will only be getting better
But I do want this gearing sorted, and hope that GIAC don't try to charge me for it :sad1:
-
Sounds immense Jussa, and I can also vouch for Alex's workmanship :happy2:
Time for AKS to become a GIAC dealer?
-
What timing you running now Jussa!?
-
All sounds good..can't wait to get my golfR in July & hand it over to stattlers for wmi
-

My original settings were B9 T5 F5 if I remember correctly.

Not for my S3 they don't, cause if they did I would have had it instead of doing a 4 hour round trip 3 times!!!!
-
Do they not?? :-(
-
Do they not?? :-(
Not unless Revo have recently developed a DSG map Rich!
That is why I ended up going with Custom code and then GIAC on the R.

I'll let Alex answer that one, I just drove while he did the logging. My knowledge on how lean she should be is dangerous :signLOL:

Without meth I ran B8 T6 F5 and with meth I run B9 T7 F7 with lambda reading 0.8 ( AFR 11.76 ) to redline.
-
I thought it was the opposite and Mewth made the AFR lean out?
-
:popcornsoda: :popcornsoda:
-
I run fuel 9 stage2+ revo without meth. I find it doesnt pull timing compare to 5-6 that i had it on before.
afr is around 12.
You guys got me thinking to turn it back to how it was i.e 5-6.

What were your 0-60 times before WMI?

Hi Dave, to be honest I average normally 4 secs flat, but have done a 3.88 without the meth.
The Meth definitely gives a serious amount of extra midrange, so u don't really feel it in 1st and 2nd that much.
When I get the DSG map sorted I should get better than the 3.88 :jumpmove:
I want to try her now on the quarter mile. What I can say now though is that the overrun in the higher gears is epic, major backfiring and rumbling :signLOL: not sure but it must be something to do with the meth????
-
Jussa, am I right in thinking the 8P2 S3 uses the same gearbox as the Golf R which is different to a normal Mk5 GTI/ED30?
