Title: Pre Cat Delete DIY how to?

Hi guys,

Im looking to do a pre cat delete on my GTI this weekend, weather permitting... Ive heard its a DIY job, could anyone talk me though it or give me any tips before I get the hammer out?

I have to say, i followed that write up, and even me being electrical rather than a clanky, i managed it in double jig time!

You do have second thoughts just before you bring the hammer down onto the chisel the first time, but just keep bashing!! lol

Did you do it on the driveway?  Or is it wise to get it on a lift.

got a set of ramps, wasnt the best, if you had lifts that would be idea, but its easy enough to do on ramps..

This is on my list of jobs to do.

Will take it to my brothers garage to do on the ramps.

Is it a downpipe down or complete exhaust off job? Any tips for bashing the pre cat out? Heard can damage sensors.
