Hi guys!
I am new to this forum so go easy :happy2:
I have a Mk5 golf gti which i left to stand for around 3 months. When i came to start it the battery was dead so i jump started it. I was driving along there was a few lights on. The steering light, ABS, ESP and the tyre pressure light. i looked on forums and it said to do the left to right thing, when i did that i then it went to partial power steering grrr!!
I've since put it on bosch kts 670 diagnostics and it comes up with:-
steering angle sensor fault (which wont clear)
steering end stop - basic settings not peformed/wrong (which wont clear)
and both rear wheel speed sensors (which will clear but come back)
any ideas? its driving me crazy!

Sounds like you need to perform the basic settings.
Have a look here and scroll down to basic settings. [http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_(1K)_Steering_Assist (http://[http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_(1K)_Steering_Assist)
A tip for doing the end stop setting, hold it on the stop lo her than stated. 20-30 is what worked for me.

I've tried this today and it didn't clear. Im not 100% sure on the
"If the 02546 - Steering Limit Stop 005 - No or Incorrect Basic Setting / Adaptation fault will not clear after driving the vehicle and completing the VW Golf (1K) Steering Assist procedure, increase the time in-between key cycles to 30 seconds or more."
what am I meant to do for 30 seconds?
Thanks Russ

try doing the basic settings
switch the engine off
start the engine > turn all the way to the left and hold > turn all the way to the right and hold > turn all the way to the left

Yeah i am using vcds and its a proper one. When i click on/off/next it comes up with error and not availible to do the adjustments
im from malvern in worcestershire (about 40 miles south of birmingham)

I think you will have to fix the wheel speed sensors before it will allow you to carry out basic settings.
