MK5 Golf GTI

I just swapped out my old window joystick/switch controller on my UK MK5 GTI for a chrome knobbed brand new one (as used on Passat, MK 6 etc) bought on eBay. When I set it to move the left mirror it works fine, but when I move it to adjust the right hand side mirror it moves both bloody mirrors ie both the right and the left mirrors at the same time!!
It is a joystick/switch for a RHD car. Surely this part does not need coding? Maybe a duff switch? :sad1:

Normal behaviour and a "feature" of the golf.

I'm sure this "feature" can be disabled with VCDS

Your right - on the mk6 you can enable/disable via the MFD

Why on earth would they choose to do this? Never noticed it in the past 6 month..... Funny how you miss things eh?

Anyone done this? Know the code etc?
Thanks :happy2:

it does make sense, you adjust the right first then the left, then if you need to adjust (or another driver does) then adjust the right only and the left is pretty much (I have found) in the right place - then when you come to move it back, its one mirror - move to your location, check the left and if your lucky its spot on.

I think you can change this in convenience menu on highline

Correct, if he's got a highline mfd.

Sadly not, but I do have VCDS if I can turn off via that?
