Title: Car not accelerating like it should?
Post by: scottyed on April 27, 2013, 04:01:53 pm
I had my car remapped about a year ago and it has performed great until this week.

In the last week the car would come on boost really strong then start hesitating around 5K (still accelerating but felt like the car was just revving without much boost).  The problem has gotten worse over the last few days with it now seeming to start doing this at 3-3.5K.

The car still does accelerate, but not like a remapped car.  It almost feels a bit juddery and un smooth and feels like it's getting worse the more I drive it.  Have plugged a friends device into it and it's not showing any fault codes?

Could it be a coil pack on way out, plugs, turbo?

Does the turbo woosh sound louder ? Will probs be the diverter as said above.

However my cam position sensor was broken and went into a kind of half limp mode meaning when it was on hard boost it kinda dropped back and didn't accelerate as it should.  The diverter is around £35-40 and not too hard to change yourself.

Failing that I would get it scanned with vag com to see if its throwing any errors up.

Yeah the turbo whoosh is quite loud, I'll get under the car on Monday and check it out

Ah good. Should be a simple fix then. Mine had the same problem when I got mine.
