Title: Hpfp issues
Post by: paulmk5gti on May 09, 2013, 11:33:10 am
As above bought hpfp with upgraded internals from someone on here. Had pump fitted and massive fuel leak from the front of pump! So fix that leak! Then yesterday tryed the pump again and no fuel pressure. At idle I have 7bar of pressure when requested is 50bar! Witch suggests knackered pump. So reinstall my old pump and at idle I get 50bar! Have tryed to contact the seller but no replys at all. Any suggestions on what to do next ? ??????

It doesn't look like he has been online since the 3rd.

I would suggest stripping it down and rebuilding it.

There are instructions here - http://www.autotech.com/mm5/instructions/i127100k.pdf

More pics here - http://www.autotech.com/download/2.0TPump/FuelPump.zip

I hope it's nothing too serious and just needs a clean up.

thanks Rob .
Is there any way to tell if the internals are upgraded after I disassemble the pump any markings etc?   Regards Paul8)

Autotech, the piston has a step up, and oem one is just 1 straight size. Youll havet to pull it out of the hpfp to see it.

When you strip it down you will find it also say autotech on the part and has a serial number.
