Title: My car sounds like a diesel

Hi all, from cold the car sounds fine, after a few miles driving tho it really does sound like a diesel with the diesel knocking sound. It seems to run ok, just had oil, filter and cambelt done but no improvement, any ideas? or and it's bwa engine thanks

I'd suggest comparing it to one at a local dealer or a friends (if they have a TFSI).

Serious diesel noise points towards the cam timing chain (opposite side of the engine to the cam belt). This is an expensive fix but if ignored could end up being an £EXPENSIVE fix.

I'd suggest using the search function for videos to help you diagnose  :happy2:

Mine sounds like a sewing machine, though I nearly bought one that IMO did sound like a diesel. I would get it booked in with a specialist mate.
