I am looking for some advise to help diagnose an irritating issue with my Mk5 golf GTI. The problem occurs when the vehicle has been left overnight. It starts normally, but when you come to drive away the engine suffers from a hesitation feeling which lasts for the first mile of the journey. Particularly noticeable at low rpm. Thankfully a mile down the road and everything is back to normal.
It's a 2005 manual GTI, 45000 miles. Totally standard specification. In recent months I have replaced the coils, PCV, DV, air filter.
Obviously my next job is to get it plugged into a fault code reader. If there is somebody out there that has suffered the same problem, and managed to diagnose it. I would be very interested to here from you.
Thanks

Hi
And welcome!
Do you drive of straight away, or would you let the engine tick over for a min, as the auto choke kicks in for approx. 1 min...

Thanks for the welcome, it nice to be on here. I am normally on the move within a minute of starting the car.

try waiting a min for the revs to drop, if not get a scan done that should point you in the right direction :happy2:
