Title: Lack of power when turbo kick's in!
Post by: sanj on June 15, 2013, 03:56:14 pm
I've had my Edition 30 for 18 month's now with no trouble at all,had a remap put on which was fine for a couple of week's,loved the power now for some reason the car feel's as if the turbo is'nt kicking in as it should do,diverter valve is fine,no problem's when you do a scan with vagcom,it's got me confused.I've looked at the intercooler hose's from the engine bay driver's side(can't see clearly where it's connected to the intercooler, and the pipe was a orange sort of colour)and there seem's to be some sort of sludge or oil leak of some sort, could it be the intercooler pipe's? :surprised:

oil is normal in the intercooler pipes

get your car logged and see if its making requested boost/fuel levels

Hi,I don't think I worded it correctly,I meant to say that there is some leaking of oil of some sort on the plastic weather shield bit sitting under the intercooler pipe's on the driver's side.

Maybe you have a boost leak which is pushing the oil in the intercooler pipe out? A photograph would help us.

Also, what revision diverter valve and PCV do you have?

Hi,the PCV is the latest version I think,it was fitted around a year ago and seem's fine, the diverter valve is a new revision 'G' which I fitted myself 2 month's ago, here are some picture's(sorry about the quality as I could'nt get better access)it show's the oil from above the engine bay driver's side and below the car.

maybe the seal on the turbo to IC has gone.

Wip the undertray off its only a few screws and you will be able to see it easily

Look's like i'll have to jack the front up to get the weather shield plastic undertray off and it look's like a pain in the arse with only a single jack!I'll just have to hope that it is just the seal and nothing more but looking at the picture's i'm 100% sure it is.
