Looking to change my d.V soon(whistling noise on acelleration & 8 years old now). It's the 2 litre turbo AXX engine by the way. Can anyone tell me if there is a seal or gasket to change when fitting the new one. Thanks in advance.

No seal, just 3 awkward bolts :happy2:

Thanks Tom for uber quick reply :happy2:

Yeap, will drive like a new car mate.
See my build thread for pics of how I fitted mine.
Any help/advice, just give me a shout.

Got some nice weather coming up this weekend too  In through the drivers wheel arch if you've got a bit of time, makes it nice and easy to get to all the bolts. :happy2:

Thanks chaps. Got my new d.v today. Gonna have a bash at fitting it first thing in the morning I think. Can't wait to see how it feels after fitting. I will miss the "whistling noise tho lol"

You won't when you feel the difference in power!!!!! You will still get a little 'sneeze' when you let off I your WOT but I would rather that and the pull it has now to the whistle before :driver: :happy2:

Sweet Jesus. Just finished fitting my d.v ( took about 2 hours in all) took it for a spin as you do and can't believe the difference. Unbelievable. Best £38 I've ever spent. The old one I removed was a rev.B by the way so I'm guessing it must've been the original one. :happy2:

Quick question...
I replaced my (busted) rev C. with a rev G a few months ago, but while driving with the window down this week I noticed a slight whistle when accelerating - but then I do get the 'sneeze' on lift off. I've never been in another GTI, so is the slight whistle normal, or should there be no noise and then the sneeze?
When I fitted the rev G the boost was better, but it wasn't a 'night and day' difference like everyone else seems to experience, so I wonder whether I might have more investigating to do. :sad1:
Cheers,
Rich.
