When I was after a new clutch I did loads of research. Sachs had a lot of bad reviews so I would have gone Helix. Awesome GTI are quite cheap, get it fitted at your local specialist :happy2:
Stay away from techniclutch on eBay :scared:

Y techniclutch off ebay ive just bought 1 :signLOL: :sad1:gulp ?
-
Loba is the safest option for putting alot of power through surely
-
I will recommend a sachs uprated pressure plate and clutch with a DMF for your typical fast road use, with the LOBA SMF solution as the next step with track days thrown into the equation.
I can't recommend the Sachs SMF solution as it seems their SMF is designed wrong and can result in the clutch being sucked to the SMF which results in not being able to shift at high rpm and do fast shifts.
Both Fuscobal and i have had this issue with the Sachs SMF setup.

Yeah for every good review there is two bad ones

I'm running a Helix Fast Road clutch and SMF after a similar experience
Helix clutch works as it should, and doesn't seem dissimilar to standard, but clutch weight felt like gym equipment initially! Its gradually loosened up over the last few months to a more tolerable level.
One thing worth considering, the SMF does noticeable improve engine pick-up, but the idle noise is terrible, even after a few months of having it installed, often sounds like a tractor! I'm tempted to return to a dual-mass.

I have been looking at helix clutches and wondering if it would be best to run smf or dmf is the chatter from the smf really that bad?:'(

I guess it depends on your priorities! It can sound pretty loud and nasty at idle, to the point where people have commented on it. If your not bothered by this then by all means go SMF. I was expecting less noise from it tbh, and it seems to randomly fluctuate in volume at times.

I had a Sachs clutch and Flywheel in my last Octavia vRS and never had any issues with it, well apart from the wife complaining it made her leg ache in traffic
-
Statller fitted me a Helix clutch and dual mass flywheel as i didnt want the chatter, clutch will hold 354ftlb from what i have read online.
Was stiffer than the standard clutch but nothing ridiculous.
Love it
