Title: Why are the insides of my xenons silver not black?
Post by: petesimcock on July 24, 2013, 08:10:33 pm
So, my gti has xenon headlights. I seem to remember the gti lights having black inners and i keep seeing cars with standard lights and black inners. Mine are silver. I can't decide if its a xenon thing and all the xenons are silver anyway or if there was some changes at some point which meant they're not all the same?

I'm 99.9% sure that I put all of my options codes into a website at some point and it told me the xenons were factory fitted. The car is a 2006/56. Does anyone know what the code I should look for in my book is for xenons and the winter pack so I can double check that?

If anybody has any information as to why they are silver, or if this is normal that would be appreciated.

Many thanks, Pete

As far as I know, the factory fit Xenons only ever came with silver inserts. The standard Halogen lights on the GTI's came with black inners.
Yours sounds fine. Sorry, can't help on the code for winter pack, etc - am sure someone will be along in a mo who does!
