Title: Help needed. At a loss!
Post by: NEWEY on July 26, 2013, 04:48:35 pm
Hi guys long time no speak.

I was wondering if anyone could help me out here.

My car has developed a cold start miss fire which makes the car quite lumpy until the revs die down (about 30 seconds or so) once warm I get an occasional pop from the exhaust around every 10 seconds or so. If left to run on tick over for any long period of time it brings up the engine management light. This also turns off after a long drive. The performance is not effected at all from the car.

I have replaced the spark plugs with NGK platinum plugs and also replaced all the coil packs to which its still doing it. I got my mate to run it through vagcom and its showing an intermittent miss fire on cylinder 3. (Sorry I don't have the error code)

Do you think this is the pcv ? I've done the dip stick check this morning and it ran pretty rough and I can't blow down the pcv but I can suck air through it.

Could it also be down to the forge dv needing a service ? (The cars due its 60k service in the next few weeks)

The car is running a stage 2+ revo code and forge CAI

Thanks for your input

Sounds like a fuel injector is the problem.
