Post by: alexharvey on July 30, 2013, 11:44:56 pm
hi guys bit of advice had the car remapped on pipercross panel filter i now intend on getting the pre cat out and fitting ITG induction kit , do i need to get map tweaked after doing this? or will it adjust to more airflow?

also i must say top service and map by the r tech guys!

thanks Alex

You could have e map tweaked but you won't get much more than the ECU will adjust for anyway

to get good bhp from re map what do u need ?

new DV G type check done that

panel filter ? is it any better than original

decat take out white chalky stuff or just change downpipe what would that make bhp ?

cat back exhaust bhp ?or both

what would the figures be 240 bhp

thanks for reply pete

Do this:

-panel filter
- remove pre cat from down pipe
- stage 1 map. Should easy make 240bhp (even on JKM's dyno )

i had just a panel filter and always run my cars on Vpower fuel at my remap and made 245 bhp and 307 ft pounds torque. thats was at r tech
car is great now just want a bit more!! hence taking out pre cat and induction kit

think this is getting addictive!!!

taking out pre cat  will you do this yourself or get nick at r tec to do this ?
do u know what he charges and what bhp extra it could make ?

im gonna take the pre cat out myself , been told up too 5 bhp plus better air flow and cooler temps in exhaust will work well with induction and map!

think i may try to let it learn from scratch do i need to leave battery off a while and is it best to drive it fairly quickly after?

Mine adapted very quickly afterwards  :happy2:

There was a noticeable difference straight away.

Everything to aid flow now will compliment the mapping, don't worry about having to have the map changed again until u have done all the hardware for the next sw stage of tune, then you can have the mapping adjusted to take full advantage of your hardware investment.  :-)

APR HPFP FTW.  :happy2:

Their rebuild pumps are £480 ish, send them a new OEM pump (£150 ish) and they'll send you back a shiny new APR HPFP. Or a LOBA HPFP for £599.
