Title: gti gear changes length

test driven a mk5 gti today and the change between gear one and two seem long, I currently have a type r is that normal on the gti to have fairly long changes just seemed a long way to put it into gear 2

Is this standard just feels like a long throw I'm sure a short shifter will soft it out no??? Just wondering if it was standard

type r got a good box.. nothing a short shifter wont sort on the gti though
