Hello :)
Basically every few times I drive the car (not every time) I get a message saying STOP check coolant - see owners manual. Done the obvious and checked the oil and water (when engines cold) and the coolant is fine (just below max) so I'm wondering if its a more serious problem..
I've only had the car a few weeks so not sure how long this has been happening for but it's done it on me about 6 times in the last couple of weeks..
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas in mind that it could be as I can't get to a garage til Sunday and need the car for work :(
The car is a 05 GTI with 70k and FVWSH (last major service 4k miles ago)
Cheers,
Dave

If the coolant hasn't dropped then it's usually the sensor in the expansion tank.. the sensor can be 'cleaned' by using a screwdriver but awkward. Easier to change out the tank and quite cheap.

I get this also!! I just turn the engine off, squeeze the radiator pipe to get it flowing and then it goes off...

as mentioned it will be the sensor in the expansion tank

Cheers guys, will get another bottle this weekend, big weight off my mind :)

Changed mine earlier this year. £20 for the bottle and literally a 15 minute job :)
